NEWS PAGE & BLOG

Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become a regular visitor to my site.

Mad Dogs, The Hare and The Bugatti Club!

Me with a Sweet Little Car!

Hello everyone – sorry I’m a bit late with my blog. If you have been following my facebook pages you will know I haven’t been too well these last couple of days. After a very busy Saturday at the Hare Fest and Bugatti Club it would appear I came down with sun stroke. I always make a point of wearing sun factor 50 but two shows in the glare of the sun took it’s toll and I had to spend all of Sunday in bed. I always drink lots of bottled water but we thought that might have gone off in the heat. It would appear it was just the sun so Mad Dogs and all that! I’m very fair and I have to be very careful. Despite being ill afterwards I have to say my shows couldn’t have gone better. I was the first act on at 12 noon for Hare Fest and a big thank you to Mike and Andy who did sound for me. Great Job Guys! You were fantastic and being able to go through your kit saved so much time with me having to dash off straight afterwards for Bugatti.so thank-you 😉
Thank-you to Joe too who came over with his Jeep and to Bill too who came over to help just in case I needed to use my own rig. So thank-you every-one for your support!

After Hare Fest I jumped in my van and dashed over to Quainton to pick up my friend Kim who I had booked to do sound for me for Bugatti.I love working with Kim she is fantastic and you can’t beat having a girly natta to and from jobs.
The Bugatti Owners Club is at Prescot Hill, Near Gotherington, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and it was my second time there. This was their Vintage Minor Rally and they had all sorts of cars. So enjoy the photos.

Me being ever-so Sporty!

We’ll that’s about all my news for now as I have to get my-self to bed and ready for tomorrows show so I hope the weather isn’t too hot again. I’m doing a Stars and Stripes show  tomorrow and I have a very full weekend planed as I head down to Margate on Sunday to sing at Thanet at War so more of that later. Keep Watching and Toodle Pip for Now!

All Set for Hare Fest and the Bugatti Club!

It’s just a quick blog tonight as I get set for a busy weekend. Tomorrow you can catch me at 12 noon as I open the Hare Fest with songs from the 40s 50s and 60s at the Hare Inn in Linslade Leighton Buzzard before heading off to The Bugatti Club at Prescott Hill near Gotherington, Cheltenham. So it’s all go here at Harrison HQ as I sort out my dresses and music.
Today I saw Rachel’s proofs for my new FAQ page which we hope to have up on my web-site very soon so do keep watching. It’s taking shape beautifully and it’s wonderful to see my designs taking shape. I’m very pleased with the page and it’s great to see everything coming together at long last.
Thank-you for your feed back on my videos I’m pleased you’ve been enjoying them and don’t forget I will be posting up “The Sound of Music” very soon – so one to look out for. In the mean time do keep enjoying my “Bye Bye Blackbird” video and “If I were the Only Girl in the World ” show reel which has now been embedded into my Music Hall page. Well must dash as I still have a few things to sort out before bed. Thank-you for following and Toodle Pip!

It’s Too Darn Hot with Bye Bye Blackbird!

Yes Summer is at last here and now when I should be on a beach somewhere I find myself slaving over a hot desk. Contracts and e-mails wont do them selves but it does look like we might be in for another summer like 1976. So Swim suit at the ready and maybe I might make it along for a bit of a paddle!
Just to keep you up to date with my latest and we have just down loaded my 1920s video Bye Bye Blackbird so do have a look by clicking onto my You Tube channel button in the top left of the screen on my web-site www.fionaharrison.biz
Other news – this Saturday you can catch me at The Hare Inn in Linsalade Leighton Buzzard at 12 noon as I sing songs from the 1940s 50s and 60s which is all part of the Hare Fest taking place from Friday 19th -Sun 21st. Non stop entertainment and the best bit is it is all free so I hope you can make it along. That evening I shall be performing for a 1940s event taking place at The Bugatti Club, Prescott Hill Near Gotherington, Cheltenham so it’s going to be a busy Saturday. Sunday I shall be performing for a Summer Garden Party so I must get all my paper work sorted before the weekend. I shall sign off now as I’m looking forward to getting an early night.
Thanks for following and Toodle Pip!

Bubble Cars, The Rapids & All things 60s at The Midland Railway!

Me in a 1960s Bubble Car!

What a scorcher it’s been this weekend I think it must have been 80 in the shade. I’ve been out and about singing for a 1960s weekend at The Middland Railway up in Derby and what a great two days it’s been too. The railway had a vintage car rally on the Sunday and in the morning I took some time out to have a look at the vehicles before things got too busy. They even had a 1960s bubble car. Until Sunday I had only ever seen them in books so I was thrilled to see one for real and the gentleman even let me sit in and have my photo taken. So thank-you very much to the gentleman with the bubble car for letting me do that although they are not the easiest of things to get in and out of in a mini skirt – so I hope I didn’t show too much! Mind you talking about mini skirts I was able to pick up an original crochet 60s yellow dress from one of the stalls. Once I had got over the shock of seeing all my legs all at once and just how short the skirt was I decided to buy it. As it will be a great addition to my 60s wardrobe. Mind you I think I will have to invest in some knickers with the lace on the bottom like the tennis players use to wear. When one bends over you see a bit more than you should so I think lacy knicker will make it Ok or at least I hope it will. Ladies wore their dresses very short in the 60s!

Me with 60s Band the Rapids!

I’ve really enjoyed this weekend as it makes a change for me to be singing something other than the 1940s. Once again I was booked to do a weekend package of 3 x 45 minutes non repetitive shows daily in the little chapel at Swanwick station. I was keeping my fingers crossed that 60s band The Rapids had been booked to play again as they were fantastic last year so I was thrilled to find out they had been. Over the years I’ve worked and rubbed shoulders with so many bands but The Rapids are something special and have a real 1950s 60s sound which not many bands get these days. It was wonderful to see you guys again and I hope very much to work with you again soon. Love your CD by the way – I played and sang along to it all the way home! xx

All aboard this 1949 Bus!

I have to confess that while I was at the railway I  fell in love with this 1949 bus. I love anything curvy and she has curvy seats – isn’t she beautiful. If I had to give her a name I would call her Marilyn after Marilyn Monroe so I hope I may well get to meet Marilyn again some time in the future. Fingers crossed!
Thank-you to every-one who came to see me play in the Chapel and thank-you Barry for all your help – an extra pair of hands can make all the difference when it comes to packing up!
Oh before I forget just a few up-dates for you with regards my web-site. My Home page is now all done and up dated with my video embedded and so too is my Music Hall page. So if you get the chance do take a look www.fionaharrison.biz
We will also be up-dating quite a few photos some of which have been done but I’m not happy with the colouring so we will be looking at that side of things this week. We will also be releasing my 1920s Bye Bye Black Bird video very soon so Keep Watching and I shall keep you posted..
