NEWS PAGE & BLOG

Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become a regular visitor to my site.

Going all 1960s

I’m all set to head North tomorrow as I have a full weekend booked. I shall be singing the music of the 1960s for the Midland Railway, Derby this Friday and Saturday so I hope you can all make it along. I shall be performing in the little Chapel at Swanwick station 3 x 45 minute shows daily at 10am 1.45pm and 4pm and I think there may well be a band on as well. Last year they had a 60s band called the Rapids who were really good  so I’m keeping my fingers crossed they have been booked back again this year. I shall also be mixing in some songs from the 1950s as well + some 1960s musical theatre. So I have a really mix bag planed.
Well I must go as I still have a few jobs to finish off before bed and I’m booked to be in the hair dresses bright and early being made to look all 1960s. Keep Watching and thanks for following!

Back from Bournemouth and off to the Midland!

The Queens Hotel, Bournemouth!

Hello every one it’s been a busy couple of days because I have been working for Saga holidays this week singing for a 1940s weekend at The Queens Hotel in Bournemouth. I’ve played the Queens Hotel many times before but this time I had my friend Kim with me who I had employed as my sound engineer. Thank-you for everything Kim you were fantastic and thank-you for doing the driving too. It was the first time I had been a pasinger in Connie and it was great to be in Bournemouth again. I think the last time I was there was a few years ago when I was booked to sing at the B.I.C. my how time flys!

The Victorian Post Box!
Just out-side the Queens hotel is this Victorian post box which I just love. I remember it from my last visit and I just had to have a picture for my album!
Kim and I have been booked to return in October for Saga so I’m looking forward to returning very much particuly as our shows seem to go down very well with the guests. So a big thank-you to Saga for booking me and to pianist Carol Wells for looking after us so well.
This Friday I’m back on the road again as I’m booked to sing for a 1960s weekend at The Midland Railway in Derbyshire. I shall be performing 3 x 45 minute shows daily at Swanwick station in the little chapel so I hope you can all make it along. My show times are 10am 1.45pm and 4pm daily Saturday and Sunday so see you there.
Well must dash as I’m tied and I need to get to bed. I have another “Stars and Stripe” show tomorrow so I need to get some sleep.
Keep Watching and Toodle Pip!

Off to Bournemouth & New Look Web-site!

I’m all set to hit the road again tomorrow as I head off to Bournemouth for Saga holidays. I’m playing at The Queens Hotel, Mevrick Road which I have sung at many times before. Back in the early naughties I use to sing for lots of Masonic functions down there and they nearly always use to take place in Bournemouth. I’m booked to do my “We’ll Meet Again” ATS show Tuesday evening and then on Wednesday I’m booked to do my American “Stars and Stripes” show so busy busy!
On Thursday I shall be in Slough before heading north to Derbyshire on Friday for a 1960s weekend. I shall be singing at The Midland Railway 3 x 45 minute shows daily so it’s all go.
I’m pleased to announce my web-site Home page has had something of a make over so if you get the chance do take a look. We have now embedded my intodury video which is a much more modern way of doing things and we will be adding more videos to my pages in time so do keep following and I will keep you posted. www.fionaharrison.biz
Tonight I’m just back from a wonderful night at the Theatre. I’ve been to see Don Quixote with the Sofia National Ballet at The Aylesbury Waterside Theatre. I hate to say it but the story is rubbish – a knight who has spent his life travelling around on a quest to find his perfect woman with his servant Sancho. Dispite the lousy plot the ballet is fabulous and very technical. The Sofia Company were amazing and the costumes they wore were all very beautiful so I enjoyed my night out very much. Must get to bed now as I have another busy week a head of me.
