Gosh what a busy couple of weeks it’s been and today I’m just trying to get myself straight before I start on my next run of shows. As you know I’ve been singing out in Arromanches for D-Day and what a fantastic couple of days it’s been too. I think the two shows I did this year had to be two of my best particuly as we were able to get so many of the Veterans up on stage for the end. Despite having rain in the middle of my first show it didn’t put anyone off. When it came to my 10 pm glamour show I think we must have had about 2000 people and it was just wonderful to see so many freinds from past years! Every year I look forward to seeing the Veterans who have all become friends in particular Len Cox who has become something of the face of Arramanches and who loves to be up on stage with me singing and dancing. This year it was wonderful to see so many Veterans getting up and joining in with the music and to meet up with Albert Fig again. These moments are very special and I’m so very privaliged to be part of this all important event. It was great to meet up with so many Veterans on the ferry home and I hope you all got home safe and sound!
Sadly I don’t have any photos of my own to show you but do click through to my facebook pages where Jo has very kindly posted up a few so do please take a look. If anyone out there reading this blog has any photos or film footage of my Arromanches shows – in particular of the Veterans on stage I would so love to see it and do please post onto my facebook pages.
Well I must go now and get to bed as I have a show to do towmorrow and I have a 9am apointment to have my nails done so I must get some rest. Thanks for dropping in and do keep watching! Toodle Pip!
PS A big thank-you to my sound engineer Chris Gymer who has been working with me over this very busy period and I’m looking forward to working with you again the end of this month Thanks ever-so! ;->

Gosh it’s been a busy few days one way and another with the Jubilee but I’ve just got home and I just thought I would do a quick blog before heading off to France and singing for the D-Day commorations!
I need to say a big thank-you to my sound engineer Chis Gymer who has been working with me through this very busy Jubilee and D-Day period. Highly professional and a joy to work with. I’ve learn’t from exsperiance if you want a job doing always use a professional!
Yesterday we were in Stapplehurst performing for the Yanks and Limey’s Picnic in the Park event and sadly it turned a bit wet and rather cold but being British we carried on and what a great event it turned out to be! I was useing my full big rig 4 x 300 Ev speakers + my 2 little ones. It was just a shame we had to put bin bags over them just to protect them from the heavy rain. I know Ev speakers are water proth but even so I like to be extra carful with them even if the bin bags did make them sound a bit farty on bass and slap! Hats off to the organisers especily Graham Sivyer – this has got to be one of the best organised events I’ve ever played and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the weather will clear up for you today and Tuesday!
Today I’m just back from playing Aston Abbots’s Jubilee luncheon with song from the 1950s and 60s so now I’m home doing a quick turn around for France. Chis very kindly took some photos today of me on his phone and I shall post them up on my Facebook pages so do take a look. Thanks ever-so for dropping in and I’m looking forward to singing for the Vetrons again in Arromanches on Wednesday 6th. Do keep watching and Bye for Now!
Oh before I forget Happy Birthday Joe xxx

Just a quick blog to wish you all a very happy Jubilee and to keep our fingers crossed that the good weather stays for this weekend. As many of you know I have a very busy run now and towmorrow I shall be in Wantage Oxfordshire before heading off to Mapledurham House a Stately Home in Reading with my Jubilee Show – songs from the 40s and 50s – ATS and Glamour. That evening I will be in Princess Risbough with my Wrens and Swinging 50s and 60s show and then down to Staplehurst for Sunday 3rd. I’m booked to sing for the Picnic in the Park Yanks and Limey’s event taking place in Surrenden Playing field. I shall be on stage at 2.30pm – 3.15pm being all American and then back on with my ATS Show at 4.15pm -5.15pm being all English! I shall also be on stage at 8.45pm finnishing off the event with British Themes and with a Big Patriotic Finale so needless to say I will be wearing my Red White and Blue Jubilee dress for that set which I’m sure you will agree is a must!
Monday I will be in Aston Abbots, Buckinghamshire performing the music of the 1950s and 60s for their Jubilee lunch and then over to France on the 5th June for D-Day. I shall be performing outside the Place du 6 Juin 14117 Arromanches on the 6th so I hope you will be able to make it along. My first show is ATS and taking place at 4pm for the Veterans then a Glamour 1940s show at 10pm – 11.30pm – so I had better pratice my French songs in prep as I can’t belive June is upon us so soon! Phew!
Well that’s about it for now and as you can see it may be a while before I will get the chance to blog again. In the mean time I hope you like my Edwardian Swim suite photo. I shall put a few more up on my face book pages as I’m always getting asked for swim suite shots so here I am in mine! If it’s not quite what you had in mind – well that’s just tough! But then I’ve never much liked being like the others!
Toodle pip for now and thanks everso for dropping in! ;->
Oh before I go I must tell you this. Today I was doing my Pearly Queen show and I over heared 2 ladies talking one saying
” I wonder what part of London she’s from?” The other replied “I think the Posh part!”
I did laugh! Bye for Now! ;->

Hello everyone I’m not long back from Yorkshire after playing at a beautiful Statley Home Carlton Towers. I was very lucky to have supurb sound engineer Chris Gymer working with me on this ociastion and we drove up Monday night. I was invited to stay and have supper with the rest of the fellow houseguests – and what wonderful hospitality and fellow company too. I enjoyed my Coronation Chicken very much yum yum! I was staying in Lord Mark’s room – now I don’t know if I had a visit from his ghost but in the middle of the night I had the most extrardinary experience. I was awoken by something tugging on my left leg. It was a strange feeling and needless to say I must have been dreaming but at the time it felt very real. I shall put it down to my imagination and the fact I was staying in a Victorian Gothic county house. Over supper we had been talking about the operetta Ruddigore and Calton Towers isn’t short of the odd portrait or two so maybe I just have an over active imagination – who knows!
Come Tuesday I was able to explore the house and grounds a little more and enjoyed Lady Fitzaland Howards’s tour and company at lunch. I was booked to sing during the Pimms reception and also to perform a selection of songs from the 1940s and 50s as part of Carlton Towers – Diamond Jubilee Extravaganza Cabaret so I wore my special Red White and Blue Jubilee dress. Needless to say we finnished with “Land of Hope and Glory” and yes I did include Noel Coward’s “Staley Homes of England” which I think struck just the right note along with Puccini’s “O Mio Babbino Caro”.
Today I was performing in Sandy Bedfordshire with my “Don’t Sit Under the Appletree show” and towmorrow I’m going all Pearly Queen. I have a real mix bag of Jubilee shows to do over the next 10 days from Music Hall to Swinging 60s and then France and D-Day so much to do – so do keep watching.
Must dash and thank-you everso Gaby for the wonderful Carlton Towers engagement! Toodle Pip for now!
