NEWS PAGE & BLOG

Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become a regular visitor to my site.

Going 20s 30s and Catching up!

Sorry I’ve not blogged for a while but the last few days I have been working on new advert designs and I’ve not had much time to write. Today I was out and about in Great Missenden performing my 1920s and 30s show which I have to say is my favourite and tomorrow I will be in St Albans doing the same. Then it’s a busy weekend ahead with the run up to Battle of Britain and Sheringham’s 1940s weekend. So not much free time at all!
I hope you can make it along to see me this weekend and if you do I have 3 x 45 minute shows daily Sat 11.30am ATS 1.30pm Stars and Stripes 3.30pm Evette the Spivette + Saturday Night Dance Sun 11.30am Wren, 1.30pm Hooray for Hollywood 3.30pm WAAF. We may well swop the ATS and WAAF shows round with it being Battle of Britain day Saturday so watch this space and I will let you know!
Do forgive me but I’m really tied and I need to get to bed now – I’ve been working so hard of late and it’s really catching up with me. Thanks for dropping in and Toodle Pip!

Feeling Restless!

Today I’ve been trying to relax a bit and took some time out to visit Woburn’s Village Fair – but in truth I didn’t enjoy the day as much as I should have. I’ve spent so much time working that I’ve rather forgotten what it is to relax. I found myself wondering around feeling really board with everything I saw which is un fair as there was plenty going on. I just feel really restless at the moment and I can’t seem to settle. September is a very busy month for me so I wanted to enjoy this day and some how it just didn’t lift my spirits as days outs usaly do. However saying that I did enjoy my cup of tea and cake in the cript along with the church. Woburn has a really beautiful church with a fantastic alter and if nothing eles I was able to spend a few minutes there and collected my thoughts!
Back to work tomorrow and I have shows all week. Two 20s and 30s ones a Battle of Britain Dinner and then I’m off to Sheringham for the 40s weekend so I’m looking forward to that.
Early night I think maybe what I need more than anything is rest.
Thanks for dropping in and Toodle Pip!

Back from Kings Lynn!

What a great night we all had at the Corn Exchange! I’m just back from Kings Lynn and I have to say I feel rather proud of my-self as I drove Connie and I’m really starting to get the feel for her now! Although when it comes to seeing South West and South East you really can’t see a thing in a van. It’s rather down to “He who Dears Wins Rodny” as Del Boy would say! But what a difference a van makes as I can now transport all my kit and know I’ve got everything I could possibly need, with all angles covered! Phew!
Last night was a show for the 10 Anniversay Dinner for the Tactical Imagery Intelligence Wing of the RAF and what a wonderful selection of 1940s costumes there were too. My favourites were the two air man who came compleate with their own little Spitfires. When they ran along their little wings wobbled and they both looked wonderful! Needless to say we had quite a few air men with wired out scarfs, a Heir Flick, lots of Dads Army costumes and no shortage of men dressed as women! The RAF really know how to let their hair down!!!!
A big thank-you to Janet who arranged the Dinner and to my sound engineer Stefen who once again did a fantastic job.
Today I came back via Olney which if you don’t know is a wonderful little town full of fantastic shops. I did rather see a lovely dress in bright orange which would be perfect for my Halloween show, but they didn’t have my size, probably just as well really! But then I did leave my card!
Well must dash I’ve 100s of e-mails to catch up with – Oh before I forget I’ve had a few changes made to my Evette the Spivette page on my web-site. Still a few teaks to make but we are more or less there. I hope you like Burlesque Evette. Keep Watching and Toodle Pip!

Off to Kings Lynn in my New Van!

Today I was out driving my new van or should I say Connie as I have given her a name and I think Connie suits her very well. Today I was peforming over in Newport Pagnell so it was nice to take her out for a little run. I filled her up for the first time – she was running practicaly on nothing although tipical me I forgot the dissel cap was on the other side. I think I must have been quite a sight stretching the pump pipe over her bottom and all in ATS uniform too!
Well I’m all packed and ready to head off to Kings Lynn tomorrow. I shall be performing at the Corn Exchange for the RAF so WAAF uniform at the ready and glamour frock too! I also had a late booking come in for another RAF do next Thursday as it’s Battle of Britain time again. I shall then be heading straight off to Sheringham there after so I hope some of you will be able to make it over to see me. If you do do come up and say hello.
Must dash now as I want to get an early night if I can. Thanks for dropping in and Toodle Pip! Keep Watching!
Oh before I forget I’ve just recived a beautiful 1940s hand Knitted jumper from my friend Anne down in Hastings and I can’t wait to wear it! Thank-you Anne. Bye for Now! ;->
