NEWS PAGE & BLOG

Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become a regular visitor to my site.

On Ward and Up Wards!

One way and another it’s been a very busy few days with it getting even busier over the month of September. This weekend I have been at my desk writing an artical on glamour for a magazine and now I have shows all week. I real mix bag in fact. Today I’ve been out doing a sing along show in Houghton Regis and tomorrow I have a 50s and 60s show followed by a We’ll Meet Again on Wednesday. Then on Thursday I’m off To Kings Lynn where I shall be performing at the Corn Exchange for the RAF Intelligence Wing, back on Friday and High Wycombe on Saturday so busy busy! Next week is just as busy and I have a Battle of Britain Dinner to fit in on Thursday before heading off to Sheringham’s 1940s weekend at the Poppy Line for the 15th and 16th September. I’ve somehow got to fit in time to pick up my new van and get it all packed up ready for this week of shows. I still have the insurance to sort out and what a palaver it all is! I’m getting there though!
In the mean time I’m just working on a new advert design and it may be I use one of my WAAF photos!
Must dash – thanks for dropping in and do keep watching Bye for now!

A Woman with a Van!

Hello boys and girls you are now looking at a woman who has just become the proud owner of a bright white Ford Transit Connect Van. Hallaulla!
Yes I am a Women with a Van so no more fannying about with “Oh dear I can’t get all my sound system into the car” and lets get on with the job!
I can’t tell you just what a great weight it has been  and now I feel really liberated. It’s rather like a bra burning exsperance or a corset removal moment!
I can breath Ahhhh!
Thank-you everyone for your advive. I’ve been really carefull and been out on two test drives and checked all the points you said. The only down side is the insurance it looks like I’m going to be paying around the £750. mark per year – but at least I will have my wheels, indapendance and I wont have to rely on anyone to drive me.
I guess I’ve just got to learn how to drive it now! Anyway must dash I just wanted to share my good news with you all. Thanks for dropping in and bye for now!

Please let me punch the Car Salesman!

Today I have been trying to sort out a car or should I say a Van. I had no idear just how many shapes and sizes cars come in but trying to find something to suit seems imposible! There are times when I really wish I were a man because all the sales men are – and I don’t like the look of any of them! Put it this way I wouldn’t want to buy a car off any of them but then my exsperance has taught me not to trust men!
Car sales men seem to be a cirtain type of breed and they all look really dodgy! All they do is stand around paying you lip service and eyeing you up as totty! I hate it!
I’ve got 3 days to sort something out and I know I’m going to get wriped off. I just know it! I saw a Peugeot Expert Deizel van today which sort of looked ok with 58000 on the clock for £6200 + Vat is that good? I asked to test drive but guess what couldn’t because there was only one man on! Hmmm I saw two men and I bet the reason why I couldn’t test drive was because I’m a woman. If I went up and punched the salesman on the nose would that make me more manly I wonder!
On with the hunt and I shall try the internet tomorrow although one guy did surgest the car auction over in Bedford but I don’t think I could face that!
Changing the subject – some good news my new Music Hall page is now up and running on  my web-site so do check out my page at www.fionaharrison.biz
Time for something to eat I think! Toodle Pip and thanks for dropping in!
