This weekend I have been busy performing at The Chiltern Open Air Museum thanks to Harry and Edna. For those of you who go to The Stables Theatre you will know Harry and Edna run the Vintage Night Club “Hednas” so I was very honned that they asked me to perform for them this weekend. Sometimes I don’t think people relise just how much work goes into doing these things as Edna brought much of the Hednas staging and had also set up another room with “War Time fashion on the Ration”. Quite how she did it all I don’t know as Harry was at home looking after the children. However the lovely vintage DJ Jeff was on hand compleate with gramophone and Harrette too who jokingly told me she likes to stands in as the female version of Harry when he has to be at home.

The only disapionting thing about this weekend was the weather. To be perfectly honest it was one of the coldest jobs I’ve ever done as the snow and sleet started to fall and although we were in the barn with the fires on the heat just fell away to the wind. The weekend was billed as “1940s Go Green and Carry On” and belive me we did! The show must always go on even though I had condensation on my mike everyone at the musuem was very friendly and brought us all cups of tea and sandwiches plus off ration flap jack which I enjoyed very much indeed yummy! I made a point of wearing green and I choose a smart 1940s suit. I even put on extra clothes underneith to battle with the cold but in the end the Mink came out as a matter of servival. Quite how everyone eles managed I don’t know but with my diabeties I feel the cold very keenly and when I came to do my blood test I couldn’t get my machine to work as the room temprature was too cold. So I just guset and did my injection anyway!
Dispite the servear cold I really enjoyed singing and did 2 x 60mins sets. While I was there I met camera man Clive Ardagh who was making a film about local museums and who also shot quite alot of footage of me. In time I hope to have another showreel to show you all so watch this space and I will keep you posted.
Next week I start on Easter Bonnet shows with a compleate run for the next three weeks although I’m keeping my fingers crossed for better weather!
We’ll must dash as I still have a few things to do before bed. Thankyou once again to Harry and Edna Jeff, Harrette and all the staff at The Chiltern Open Air Museum.
Keep Watching and Toodle Pip!

If you have seen the weather forcast for this weekend you will know we are in for some dreadful weather but the show must go on. Tomorrow I’m booked to sing for a Tea Dance at The Chiltern Open Air Musueum in Chalfont St Giles and I have a nasty feeling it might well be a cold one. So I will be wraping up warmly with wooly vest at the ready and posibly the mink. To be honest what I had planed to wear now seems quite unsuitable and I’m still very undecided but I’m sure all will come together come the morning. I will be on stage at 4pm – 5pm and 5.30pm – 6.30pm so do join us as it will be wonderful to see you there.
Today I have been trying to tie up all those loose ends and pay a few bills. One thing I managed to get sorted was my passport. Haven’t those ten years flown by but what a palava when it comes to photos. You can’t wear a hat, you musn’t smile and your head has to be in the box – talk about make life difficult. I went to the post office and I had to go through the ordeal of removing my hair rose as someone was likely to mistake it for a hat – really! Wind up the little stool in the photo booth, get myself comfortable, put my head in the square, touch the screen and sure enough it refused to work! When it comes to touch screens they never work for me and I have problems with my ipad misbehaving all the time. The anoying thing is Tigger can make it work with his paws but I can’t with my fingers. I’m the same in supermarkets I never like to go to those help your self tills because I always mess them up and someone always has to come over to sort me out! I much prefer service and I enjoy being served!
After someone came over to help me in the post office I went away with the most frightful photos ever! Despite having my head in the box it cut off my curls which acording to the passport booklet might be a rejctable afence – but it seemed all was ok and I think by the end the staff were just plesed to see me leave! Those booths just seem to be set to make you look as dreadful as posible and it’s difficult not to smile when you have been trained to do just that. I went for the Mona Lisa look – well that was the idar only it didn’t quite work so I’m blaming it on the booth!
I must sign off now as I still need to sort out an outfit for tomorrow Toodle Pip and thanks for following!

Today we have all been worried sick as Tigger went missing. My brother let him out for is morning stroll at 6am but he didn’t come back for breakfast. I had a show this afternoon and when I came home there was still no sign of him so I went out calling his name. I think he must have heard me beacuse I could hear a very faint meow in the distant and after about ten minutes he had made his way to the back door. He then jumped over the wall to meet me at the front of the house. Quite where he had been no-one knows but at least he is home safe now and I can’t tell you how pleased I was to see him. He is quite the cat and dare I say it quite the rascal! It wouldn’t surpise me if he has been through someones cat flap living it up in a strangers house as he didn’t seem as hungary as I would have exspected for a cat who had been out all day.
I hate to say it but Tigger is quite the alley cat and he doesn’t do as he is told. I gave him a really good talking to the other day about not scratching the funitcher and to use the post provided. Can you belive this – he yorned – he atchally yorned at me! Bad boy! His favourite toy was one of my cherries he had picked out of my sewing box. Three cherries later he has lost every one and two balls. So where he has batted those to no-one knows.
I’m a bit concerned about his eating habbits as he likes to drag his food out of his bowl and the other day I even caught him drinking from the Lavatory. I was shocked! I hate to say it but Tigger isn’t turning out as well as one might have hoped. I say you don’t think he has joined a gang do you. I shall have to keep a very close eye on him! Such a naughty boy!
Toodle Pip and Meow for Now!
