Today I have been singing in Swindon in Wiltshire for the grand opening of a new care home. It was one of those events where they had the local press and the local Mayor and Mayoress to cut the ribbon. For this sort of do I tend to go with the flow rather and did a real mix bag from Music Hall to the 1960s. By the end I was able to get everyone up dancing which is wonderful to see and makes it all worth while.
I really enjoyed the drive over to Swindon today as it took me just under two hours and I spent much of the time singing to myself. I’m currently learning “If you were the only girl in the world” as I hope to have a film made of me singing it the end of May. I’ve also booked my photo shoot for the 31st but I still have so much to do in between times. Gosh where does the time go to. I can’t belive I will be back in France in a few weeks time which reminds me I must pratice my French!
Tomorrow I’m back in uniform with my ATS “We’ll Meet Again” show and then on Thursday I have a “Hooray for Hollywood” show to do in Edgeware so it’s all systems go. Don’t forget you can see me this Saturday in Baldock at The Knights Templar School. Tickets are £10 available on the door and this time you can hear me sing the 1950s and 60s. Paul Casper is on too who does George Fornby and who I’m looking forward to working with again + a local chap called Al so it should be a good night!
Times creeping on and I must get to bed thanks for following Toodle Pip!

Today I was rather spoil with choice to consider all the things I could have done. I did rather fancy a trip to Ascott House to see the spring flowers and then I thought about going to a Tea Dance at Bushey, or should I take a run out to Berkhamsted and visit Home and Colonial again as they do have some wonderful vintage fashion in stock at the present. In the end I’m afraid I did none of the above and stayed at home to catch up on paper work. Boring I know but sometimes these things have to be done and I do have a very busy May a head of me. There seems to be so little time to do everything I need to do and already I’ve sold over 220 dates for this year and it’s still only April!
I hope to be back in the gym tomorrow as I have shows every day next week. On Saturday I shall be taking part in the Baldock Music Festival as I’m booked to sing the 1950s and 60s so much to do.
Well that’s about it from me for tonight and I’m sorry I don’t have much to write about today. I’ve spent this weekend doing lots of boring stuff but on the pluss side I have caught up. I’m keen to get to bed and tomorrow I have some contracts I must do.
Thanks for following and Toodle Pip!

Hello every-one so sorry I didn’t post a blog last night but to be honest I was too tied to do so. I’ve been working really hard and this weekend I am looking forward to having some time off so I can have a bit of a tidy up at home and get ready for the month of May. Once again May is going to be another busy month as I have shows every day up until the 12th which will include some great new venues. I shall be playing for Aces High Art Gallery on the 11th and 12th May for their Dambusters Weekend in Wendover, Bucks so I’m looking forward to doing that one very much. Then I’m off to France for the 17th through to the 20th as I’m booked to play at the Utah Beach Museum in Normandy with shows booked as soon as I get back in the UK taking me through to the 23rd. For the bank holiday I’m hoping to make a couple of new show reels in particular a WW1 music video + a 1920s one so I’m busy trying to co-ordinate everything together. Somehow I need to squeeze in 2 photo shoots and a trip to the recording studio to pick up my new track of “If you were the only Girl in World” so as you can see I have much to do over the next month.
Today I poped my acounts into my acountant and on the way I had one of those moments where I couldn’t remember where his offices were. It’s not as if I hadn’t been there before but for half an hour or so I couldn’t remember. Talk about embarising and then it came to me. That’s because I’ve got so much going on in my head at the mo with all the things I want to do that sometimes I forget about the here and now! Oh Fiona really!
This afternoon I had a look around the shops in Milton Keynes as I love to keep an eye on fashion and very often you can pick out things from the high street which have the 1940s look. Last week I treated myself to a 1950s dress from our wonderful vintage shop Ollie Vees in Leighton Buzzard and I also bought a 1940s/50s original swim suit at the same time which is quite a find. I shall be having some photographs done in that later this year so watch this space and I shall post when done. In the mean time I’ve been thinking alot about how I can make my web-site better from a media perspective and the ideas are at last starting to flow but more of that later.
Thanks for following and to Wing WI who invited me to sing the 1950s and 60s for them on Wednesday. I really enjoyed performing for you!
Toodle Pip one and all and bye for now!

It’s just a very quick blog tonight to wish you all a Happy St Georges Day. I confess I’m more than a little tired as I’ve done two shows today and I was up untill 2am last night trying to get my e-mails done. Don’t you just hate it when you write a long e-mail and then it doesn’t go through because you have somehow miss spelt the address. That happens to me all the time being dislexic. I hate e-mail addresses with words like enquirers in as I never get them right and I always end up doing everything twise!
Today it has been all go with Pearly Queen shows as I had a 10.45am show in Burnham nere Slough and then I had to dash over to Milton Keynes for my 2pm show. It’s tough on your own as I have to keep my sugar levels high and with the loading and un loading you soon burn off your breakfast. I felt towards the end of my first show my sugar levels dip and that might exsplain why I did an Eric Morcombe in “My Winkles Fallen Out”. I sang all the right words but not nessersarily in the right order! Thinking about it I’m not really sure if I ever finished the number but I sopose I must have done and I was fine come my second show – once I’d had lunch!
Tomorrow I’m doing the Swinging 1950s and 1960s show for Wing WI and then another Pearly Queen show on Thursday so busy busy! Oh before I forget this is my 200th blog since I started a year last March so thank-you every-one for following!
Keep Watching and Toodle Pip!
