NEWS PAGE & BLOG

Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become a regular visitor to my site.

Kind Regards

PATs Ready, Looking Stylish & Hat’s On for Easter!

Me in Last Year’s Easter Bonnet!

Hello every-one I don’t know how many of you caught me on 1940radio.com  last weekend but early indications show I got a good listenership which we only hope will grow over time. I’ve already recorded four shows although at the moment we will only be playing one show a month due to my singing commitments. It’s always good to have a few shows in loo so we don’t fall behind and I have lots of wonderful ideas I can’t wait to put into practice and share with you all on air!

Is it just me or has this winter been dragging on

A Simple Boater for Spring!

somewhat! I was so relived to see brighter weather these last few days. I’m board with wearing brown winter woollies all the time and I’m so looking forward to Spring. This week I’ve been out performing Easter Bonnet shows although I don’t really start the Easter season properly until next week when I will be running through to the 8th April. I’m raring to go as I have a new dress for the season (which always puts a spring in my step) you might have seen a picture of in my last blog. I’ve topped it off with a straw boater which I think looks very pretty, and well – I just wanted to make a fashion statement and bring straw boaters back for Spring. I can’t tell you how refreshing it feels to wear something pretty again after all this brown.

Electron Andy PATs Testing my Equipment for 2018!

My diary is starting to take shape and it’s important to have everything in place for the new up and coming season. On Tuesday I spent the morning having all my equipment PATs tested. It’s very important to keep up to date with these things and this year the labels are different. Each one has a bar code which means every piece of equipment can be traced and is properly documented. I was also able to give my van a good sweep out this week as it’s amazing just how much dust and dirt is accumulated when you are performing here there and every-where.

Paul is very pleased with his new tailored suit and he is looking forward to seeing Alex again so he can commission another one. I had a couple of fittings with Judi this week and she has already finished the alterations on one of my suits and nearly finished a dress which I shall be taking out to France for D-Day. On Sunday I hope to pop along to Hammersmith’s Vintage fashion fair. I’m really going for trimmings as it’s the only place I know where I can get genuine trimmings from the period and I’m keeping my eyes pealed for some Art Deco orange buttons to go with my new dress. The pattern is an original from the 40s and a couple of years ago I was fortunate enough to pick up a length of original Georgette Crape. I had a fitting tonight and the dress looks super. All it needs now are the right buttons and the combination will look amazing.

That’s all my news for now. Keep Watching and thank-you for following! 😉
