NEWS PAGE & BLOG

Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become a regular visitor to my site.

Kind Regards

Happy and Glorious, Events & The Leighton Buzzard May Day Fair!

Happy and Glorious after My First Show of the Season!

As one season ends it’s straight into another with the forth coming Coronation. I performed the first of my “Happy and Glorious” shows today and it’s now full steam ahead with patriotic shows which will be taking me through to the 22nd May. The inspiration for “Happy and Glorious” came from the Last Night of the Proms and yes it has all the elements you would expect from “Rule Britannia”, “Jerusalem”, “I Vow to the my Country” to a good old fashioned British sing-along.

It was terrific to use my new refreshed British Themes medley today which I only picked up from the recording studio on Sunday. Although Richard originally did this  arrangement for me back in the early noughties it was fabulous to hear those fresh musical sounds and so worth the investment. It’s true what they say music just gets better and better!

I’m constantly adapting and learning new material but this year with the change of monarch it’s important to move forward while

still retaining the traditional. While I was performing today I thought it would be fun to include some Beatles and Elton John numbers, so I’ve set some time aside this weekend to rehearse before including these ideas into my 2023 coronation program.

This Monday I will be performing for the Leighton Buzzard May Day Fair and I’m opening the show at 9.45am – 10.20am with some popular Post Modern numbers before returning at 1.25pm – 205pm  with some good old Rock and Roll from the 1950s, 60s & 70s. I need to go over my Little Richard as I’ve not sung a couple of these songs in a while and I must check-out my show plans.

I’m praying for good weather and I hope it will be

My New 50s Jacket With Bakelite Buttons!

a fantastic day. So often I go for full skirted dresses as they give wonderful movement on stage although this year with the Post Modern set I’ve decided to wear a wiggle dress which will suit my musical program better especially as it includes the number “It’s all about that Bass” and “Fever”. As our weather can be so changeable I thought it prudent to have a little Red jacket which I’ve just had made in the 1950s style. Fortunately I had enough off cuts left over from another dress to make the jacket and it really sets off my out-fit. I’m especially pleased with the buttons which I bought on Etsy and which were

sent to me from France. They are made of Bakelite and set off my jacket to perfection.

I have some great events coming up with a lot of private functions which will be keeping me busy over the Coronation.
