Love is in the Air for Valentines Week!
It’s been good to get out the office and back on the road this week performing romantic Valentines Shows. This season I’ve been going through my back catalogue and I’ve enjoyed singing songs I’ve not sung in a while in particular “The Closest thing to Crazy” which I featured in my “Craziest Dream” album back in 2006. I’ve also been singing from Oklahoma “People will say we’re in Love” which is perfect for a Valentine Serenade show and other favorites such as “It’s Delovely” and “La Vie en Rose”.
With the changing seasons come a change in my repertoire and I’m always thinking ahead. On Monday Paul and I will be in the recording studio as Paul records his first album. It’s a very exciting moment laying down your first album and I hope Paul enjoys the experience as he is constantly being asked for an album.
I too have a lot of music whirling around in my head as I think about the sort of arrangements I want to put into production. On Friday I’ve arranged to meet up with a pianist friend of mine to

note bash through some new songs before seeing Richard in the studio. Due to all the V.E. Day and 40s events taking place this year I thought it would be nice to have something new to add to my 40s repertoire.
Other shows I’ve been working on include “Enchantment” which will also double up well for Hanukkah and the Festival of Light. Last week I was booked to play for the Jewish festival of Purum with my “Great American Song Book show”. This falls on the 10th March and will make up part of my South Coast tour. I will be traveling through from Hurstpierpoint, Brighton to Chichester. Both my tours are full now and I’m looking forward to them very much.
This Saturday I shall be heading up to Leeds after my show in Abingdon to see my old red coating friend Diddy Dave. Diddy is celebrating his 50th Birthday and I can’t wait to see him again after all these years. It will be a wonderful opportunity to catch up with all my old Red Coating pals as we swap stories about our days working at the Metropole Hotel in Blackpool.
That’s all my news for now. Keep Following and Toodle Pip!
