Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary
Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably
unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything
which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become
a regular visitor to my site.
Is it just me or do you ever feel there aren’t enough hours in the day. I seem to spend all my time rushing from one job to another and as for the time in the middle that’s just spent preping for the next show and sorting paperwork. Phew! This week isn’t any different as I’ve already done two shows and tomorrow I will be doing a photo shoot on 1940s knit wear so I will be back up at Pitstone Museum being photographed only this time I wont be in jodpurs! (Oh that reminds me I must do my ironing!) Friday is going to be another busy day as I’m in the hair dresses from 9.30am as I get ready to go all 18th centray. This week I have been on the look out for Borroc or Reccoco style jewrary and I’ve not had much luck although there are a lot of influences in design on the high street. I need something which looks spot on for the period so I’ve been making chokers and big bows for my Stumoker. I was able to pick up a really super broach while I was over in Biggleswade yesterday and I still have my cuffs to make. That’s the thing about 18th centrey fashion there are lots of little bits and you can’t ever have too many bows it’s a bit like Victorian fashion – only my orstraige feathers aren’t sitting right and they wont curl as they ought! Humm! Oh I almost forgot – for those of you out there who love vintage fashion you may be intrested to know I’ve just had published another artical for The Best of British magazine on Glamour is Back or as they put it “Glam it Up!” You can catch me on page 66 and you can see my new advert on page 54. October’s isue is really intresting as there is a grate peice on Hollywood costume by Claire Saul on page 13 and an artical on Diana Dors on page 20. They also have a Doctor Who artical on page 34 by Simon Stabler so do pop down to W H Smiths and make shure you pick up a copy! Well I’m going to have to dash now as I’m off to the theatre tonight to see “Dreamboats and Pettycoats” with my friend Betty Page so all those wonderful songs from the 1950s and 60s. Funny but that was the show I was doing earler today. Thanks for reading, keep watching and Bye for Now!
