NEWS PAGE & BLOG

Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become a regular visitor to my site.

New Videos and Armed Forces Week!

Hello every-one I know it’s late and I’m not long back from working on my film edits in Surrey with Andrew – but I wanted to post a quick blog tonight before bed. Just to keep you all up to date you can catch me this Friday in Leytonstone. I shall be performing for The Leytonstone Ex Services Club, Harvey Road, Leytonstone. They have a full day of  events planned from 1pm onwards. Food will be on sale and there will be artist Steve Lucas + The Royal Marines on parade at 6.30pm A military guard of honour, the Royal British Legion Standard Beares, pipe band and so much more. I shall be on stage at 9.15pm -10.15pm with my Glamorous “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree Show” and then back on stage at 11.15pm – 12.15pm with my ATS show “We’ll Meet Again” so I hope you can make it along.
Saturday is Armed Forces day and I shall be performing for Buckinghamshire County Council at the Aylesbury Rugby Club. They are expecting 10,000 people and I know when I did it two years ago for their last one they had that sort of number. I shall be working the main stage at 1.15pm  – 1.45pm with my ATS show and then singing in the Tea Tent at 3pm to 3.30pm with my 1940s glamour show before heading off to Adderbury in the evening. I’m booked to sing for the Bowls Club so a very busy weekend ahead.
In the mean time I finished off my videos today with Andrew and I will be realising my new show reels at two week intervals so do keep watching and I shall keep you posted.
Must get to bed now as I have shows all this week and I need my rest.
Thanks for following Toddle Pip and Bye for Now!

Is Fiona Harrison Married?

It’s been a really busy and interesting day. This morning I was with my web designer Rachel going through my analytics and some of the google questions that come up are extraordinary. One person typed in “Is Fiona Harrison married”? The answer being no I’ve never been married but why anyone would want to know that I don’t know! I’m not even going to go into some of the question asked but needless to say Rachel and I did have a little chuckle!
Today Rachel was able to down load a couple of my videos including my new Web-site Intro which in the next week or so will be inbeded into my home page with a few design tweaks. We also down loaded my new WW1 video “If I Were the Only Girl in the World” but I’m alittle worried about the quality. I spyed a glitch so we may need to down load again so watch this space and I will let you know how we get on. Rachel is so on the ball and was telling me about the new trend of using the # button. So for example if I pick on a subject like 1940s fashion and create a link by using the # you should get up related media so lets give it a go – Oh I’ve just tried and that didn’t work so I will have to get back to you on that one. I’m quite clearly doing something wrong – but then I’m not very modern and often it takes me a bit longer than most to grasp things. I need to have a lesson with Rachel in how to be modern and computer bright!
This afternoon I was performing in Milton Keynes my “Putting on the Riz” show and tomorrow I have two shows back to back so an early start and then two shows Saturday.
With that in mind I had better get to bed. Thanks for following and Toddle Pip!

All Set for Tomorrow!

Just a quick post it’s late and once again I’m burning the mid-night oil in prep for tomorrow when I present my new web-page designs to my web designer Rachel. I’ve been working between shows to get everything ready in time but at last I think I have. I’ve printed off so many new photos in prep I even run out of paper today!
If you have been following my blogs you will know I have some new videos which will be going up on You Tube very soon and I will also be adding them to my web-site too so keep watching and I will keep you posted.
Today I sang at a funeral two lovely songs Going Home and Danny Boy for a friend of mines mother in Leighton Buzzard. It was a lovely service and tomorrow I’m singing in Milton Keynes after my meeting with Rachel. I’m also meeting up with Bill in the evening who has done another concert band arrangement for me of “A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square” so I’m looking forward to trying that out with the band very much.
I was also able to tie up a few loose ends today and rather sadly I put a add in the paper for my beloved car Swifty. I hope I can find her a new home!
Well must dash as I still have some finishing off to do for tomorrow. Keep Watching and Toddle Pip!

A Hednas Vintage Weekend!

Hello every-one it’s been a great vintage weekend where I’ve been able to take some time out from singing and enjoyed Hedna night club and garden party. For those of you who don’t know Hednas is run by “Vintage Sweethearts” Harry and Edna in Studio Two at The Stables Theatre, Wavendon hence the name Hednas. It’s all very glamorous and every-one dresses up in their best vintage frocks and suits. This weekend was a little special as Hednas ran another vintage event on the Sunday in Cleo Laine’s garden which was just lovely. They had vintage cars, stalls where I treated myself to the most wonderful orstrage feather boer – I do adour orstrage feathers I like the way they dance and do their own thing a bit like me really! Tea and cakes and fabulous music. “Who could ask for a anything more” to quote the song!
Just as every-one dressed up on Saturday night every-one did on the Sunday too and I met up with some friends from my “Talk of the Town” days John and Sandra. It was so lovely to see you both and Jodie too I hope you enjoyed your afternoon as much as I did – do keep in touch and it’s nice to know you enjoy my blogs! xx

Cleo’s House – I love the windows!

Saturday night was fun because once again I met up with lots of friends and I came with my friend Julia. I also saw Sandy from “Swingrave” and Brain and Cheie from “Perfect Vintage” who I had the pleasure of working with at Great Central Railway a few weeks ago. Brain will be playing Hednas in September with the “Putting on the Ritz” boys who I will also be working with at Chatham that weekend. It’s Saturday 21st Sept and after their show on Saturday they will be heading up to Hednas for a 9pm start. It’s all very Rock and Roll but I quite fancy joining them as we all have to be back in Chatham for Sunday too – what fun! The Christmas one will be on the 14th Dec and although I have a show earlier that day Hednas is just around the corner and very local to me so it’s easy for me to pop in.

It would appear I’m one of the faces now and it’s wonderful to have a vintage night club right on my door-step. I’m looking forward to lots of great nights at Hednas as it’s a bit of a treat being able to dress up for myself rather than for others so here’s to the next one!
Saturday night we enjoyed “My Favourite Things” a 3 girl dance troupe who sang in close harmony. I enjoyed their dancing very much as the stage is tiny but they coped with it very well and you can’t beat a good tap routine! Their act was very enjoyable and well put together and today I enjoyed listening to the lovely Luna Nightingale – so it’s been a busy weekend. Back to work tomorrow as I have shows all this week and on Thursday I’m meeting up with my web-designer with my new plans for my web-site.
Well must dash thanks for following and Toodle Pip for Now!
