NEWS PAGE & BLOG

Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become a regular visitor to my site.

Kind Regards

Back on the Road!

This weekend I’ve been working non stop to get all my paper work up to scratch as I have a run of  7 shows to do this week so busy busy. I’m pleased to say I managed to get most of my paper work done  but no sooner do you get one heep sorted then there seems to be another. Not that I’m complaining, that’s good – it’s wonderful to be in demarned but there are times when I wish I had a little more time to myself. It takes me a very long time to do simple things due to my dislexia so I have to work extra hard which doesn’t leave much time for me. I’m always exorsted by the end of the day and when my head hits the pillow I’m out like a light!
Today I was performing my 1920s and 30s “Putting on the Ritz” show in Milton Keynes for a nursing home. In my job I have to do it all from large to tiny shows and an awful lot in between. I wore my 1920s teracotta dress as pictured only to be asked by one old lady “Why are you wearing that dress”? “It must be at least 100 years old and it’s  horible”!

Don’t you just love old dears! I’ve decided that when I go into a home I’m going to be a right old bat and give the entertainers hell! “You call that singing I can’t hear you”! – And stuff like that! Tomorrow I’m doing the 1950s and 60s in Beaconsfield and then I have two shows on Wednesday so lots to do.
This morning I recived the stangest thing in the post – Membership to the Spivs Union. I never knew there was one! Up to now I’ve only ever been a member of Equity  athough reading through the rules I don’t think I quilify. I’m far too honest. Mind you I think I can do rule 6. All members must wear the official spiv uniform – shoulders to be not less than 46″ wide. Yep I can do that one! Aparently there is a “Spivs Gazette” and even a funny hand shake! Oh what fun next time I bump into a fellow spiv I shall enjoy the play of it! The Spivs union even has it’s own motto “Spiv and Let Spiv” mine ofcourse is
setet fortuna domus – May the Fortune of the House Endure!
Ha ha Toodle Pip!
