NEWS PAGE & BLOG

Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become a regular visitor to my site.

Kind Regards

Back from Bassingbourn!

Hello one and all it’s been a busy weekend after doing 5 x 45 min shows on the Saturday and 1 x 60 min show Sunday. In truth I haven’t quite come round or unpacked proply yet. On this occasion I did my own sound which was hard going as I was using my big kit power amp and 2 x 300 speakers + my little ones too. On Sunday I had some help as Kim was able to do sound for me which makes all the difference when it comes to packing up. So thank-you Kim! There are times when I really wish I was a man and I just had that extra strengh. But saying that I’m quite strong and I can throw up my 300s ok. It’s just alot when you have 5 shows + costume changes and with my diabites I have to make sure I have enough food to cope with the extra phisical work – nothing I can’t handle – I just have to be very organised, eat proply and alway carry sugar just to be on the safe side!
This weekend I had the pleasure of working with Paul Casper the UK’s number one Geoge Formby and thank-you Paul for helping me strike down my kit Saturday and watching my Saturday evening set in the bar. It was great working with you and I enjoyed our chats very much. I hope very much we meet again on the 40s circit and I have the pleasure of working with you. A big thank-you to Chis and Amy who worked so hard to put on this event you should both be very proud and I look forward to seeing you in France on the 6th June. There you can sit back and enjoy both my shows in Arromanches and not have to worry about a thing.
It’s full steam ahead now with my Evette Show and I’ve set tomorrow aside to rehurse. I was in the recording studio this morning picking up The Statley Homes of England what a brillant writer Nole Coward was. Toodle Pip for now and do keep Watching! ;->
PS Many thanks to Olly for the photo – Me at Bassingbourn with a couple of Jolly Tars!
