NEWS PAGE & BLOG

Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become a regular visitor to my site.

Kind Regards

A Simply Fantastic Weekend!

I’m just back from performing in Middlewich for their 1940s event and what a cracking weekend it’s been too. Friday night I was singing at the Royal British Legion with my ATS and Evette the Spivette shows (photo care of Cliff Astles) and then it was 3 x 45 min shows daily Sat and Sun with the whole town turning out to take part. Sunday morning I was performing in the church and I also sang Ave Maria as part of the service. That song sounds beautiful when sung in church and it’s lovely to do something clasical which makes a change from singing Run Rabbit all the time! I do like singing classical songs and arias because it takes me back to my roots and well sometimes it’s just nice to be a soprano – if you know what I mean!
I booked Stefen to work with me as my sound engineer and once again he did me proud so thank-you Stefen. It was also great to meet up with “Blitz and Peaces” and the Spitfire boys as we were all staying at the same pub “The Boars Head”. I felt quite spoilt come Saturday night as Stefen and I had the night off and we went and saw my friend Madeline Brown perform at “The Big Lock” by the canal. Super show Madie you were fantastic and no you are not Mad – You are an Artist and don’t ever change we love you just the way you are! xxx
Today despite the rain, we had a really good drive back and I can’t tell you what a difference it has made  having Connie the van. It’s wonderful having my own showmans wagon and has taken out so much of the stress I was experancing before!
So onward and upwards – I’m looking forward to having a bit of a rest before I head off to Kew Bridge Steam Museum for next weekend. In the mean time I have a 50s and 60s show to do on Wednesday and heaps of paper work to catch up on. Keep Watching, Toodle Pip and Bye for Now!
