NEWS PAGE & BLOG

Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become a regular visitor to my site.

Kind Regards

Time-Travel Adventure – Nene Valley Railway to Milestones 1940s Extravaganza!

Nene Valley Railway 27th May 23

I’m all set for an action-packed weekend filled with nostalgic melodies and beautiful songs! Although tonight’s blog will be short and sweet, it’s all in preparation for an early night before embarking on an exciting journey tomorrow morning. Brace yourself for an unforgettable experience at the mesmerizing Nene Valley Railway, where I’ll be taking the stage with a series of spectacular shows that will transport you through the decades, from the swinging 1940s to the groovy 1970s.

As the sun rises, I’ll kick off the day at Wansford Station with a dazzling display with my 1940s WAAF Show, aptly titled “Straighten Up and Fly Right.” This fabulous show will have you tapping your feet and whisked away to an era filled with courage, resilience, and timeless tunes. But the excitement doesn’t stop there! At 1:30pm, I’ll transport you to the rocking 1950s with my show “Chantilly Lace,” a sensational showcase of melodies that will have you jiving and bopping along. Finally, at 3:30pm, prepare to be immersed in the nostalgia of the 1960s and 70s as I take you on a melodic journey with “Thank-you for the Music,” featuring iconic songs that defined an entire generation.

Milestones Museum 1940s Week!

But the thrill doesn’t end there! After bidding farewell to Nene Valley Railway, I’ll swiftly make my way to Basingstoke on Sunday to captivate audiences at Milestones Museum during their exhilarating 1940s week. In perfect harmony with the half-term break, this event promises to be an absolute delight. Mark your calendars for Bank Holiday Monday, May 29th, and Tuesday, May 30th, as I will be gracing the stage with three shows each day. And if that isn’t enough to pique your interest, there will also be a host of fascinating talks throughout the day too.

Let me give you a glimpse of shows for Monday, May 29th: I’ll commence at 11 am with my ATS show “We’ll Meet Again,” whisking you away to a time of camaraderie and courage. At 1 pm, prepare to be dazzled by the glitz and glamour of the 1940s with my “Hooray for Hollywood,” show celebrating the iconic musicals of yesteryear. Finally, at 3 pm, we’ll march to the rhythm with my US WAC show “Gi Jive,” transporting you to an era of energy and fortitude.

On Tuesday, May 30th, the festivities continue! I’ll start the day at 11 am with my WRNS show, “The Fleets in Port Again,” a captivating tribute to the unsung heroes of the Royal Navy. At 1 pm, get ready for a sensational Big Band and Swing Show titled “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree,” guaranteed to have you singing along and craving dance floor moves. And to wrap up this extraordinary journey through time, I’ll “Straighten Up and Fly Right,” with my WAAF show at 3 pm.
