I know it’s only Wednesday but I thought I would blog a little earler than usal in prep for this 1940s weekend up in Middlewich. Just to keep you all up to date I will be opening the weekend at The Royal British Legion with my Evette the Spivette show at 8.00pm – 8.45pm and then it will be ATS 9.30pm -10.30pm for a good old fashioned sing-along there after.
Durring the Saturday and Sunday I’m booked to do 3 x 45 min shows daily and these will be taking place in the Civic centre so I hope you can make it along. Sat 11.30am WAAF 1.30pm Hooray for Hollywood, 3.30pm 1940s Glamour, Sun 11.30am (After church service and in the Church) Wren, (Then back at the Civic Center) 1.30pm US Stars and Stripes, 3.30pm Lindy Hop. So busy busy!
In the mean time today I have been out for lunch with my dear freind Betty Page. I met Betty back in 1989 when I played Grace Farell – Warbucks secatery in the Musical “Annie” and Betty played Miss Hanagan. We have kept in touch and been friends ever since even though our carears have been quite different. Betty is a wonderful actress from whom I have learn’t much over the years and she was the one who first introduced me to the wonderful world of Joyce Grenfell which was how I got my Equity card. We always meet up over lunch every few months for a natter and catch up with what’s new on the showbiz front!
Well I’ve much to sort out tonight as I need to type out all my play lists for Middlewich and make sure everything is programmed right for my sound engineer Stefen. I also have another add to design and costumes to organise.
Oh here’s some news – you may be intrested to know that I have just gone onto Pintrest which is a new social media sight which is great for someone like me as it’s very visal. It’s like a pin board for posting photos and is used much more by people in the arts. I shall tell you a little more about that in the next week or so as we will be building in a link from my web-site in time.
