NEWS PAGE & BLOG

Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become a regular visitor to my site.

Kind Regards

A Voice in a Million

Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice and The Paradise!

Since returning from Bath this week I’ve been enjoying sitting down with my mother and watching Pride and Prejudice all over again while having tea. Out of all the different Pride and Prejudices there have ever been I still say Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet and Colin Firth as Mr Darcy were perfectly cast and it’s hardly surprising that this adaptation made for one of the most watched programmes in British broadcasting history. It’s been wonderful to sit down and watch it all again particularly as I recognise so many of the film locations and Jane Austen is such a guineas. Ladies be warned – in life we must protect our-selves against would be Wickhams! Or another way of putting it is you sometimes have to kiss a few frogs before you find your prince!
These days I lead such a busy life that I get to watch so little TV although when I do it has to be good and I can’t resist a period drama.  I’m all set for the return of The Paradise tonight on BBC 1 and then we can all turn over at 9pm for Downton Abbey. What could be nicer! I wonder what beautiful costumes will be on show in The Paradise tonight – I do love Victorian fashion and the leading man isn’t bad looking either! Like I say I’m still in the market for a bustle only I haven’t found the right silk yet – but I know what I want and when I do I shall snap it up!
Many thanks for all your feed back on my new 1920s and 30s page on my web-site. I’m so pleased you like it and thank-you for your comments. When it came to photos I was spoilt for choice. There are a few tweaks which need to be made like swapping the word veracious for vivacious when you are dyslexic it is so easy to get these things wrong but I’m sure you will agree these words have totally different meanings and I mean the later and not the forma.
Tomorrow is Trafalgar Day being the 21st Oct so I’m all set to perform my Wrens “The Fleet’s in Port Again” show and then I have lots of  Magic of the Musicals and Hollywood shows to do this week with a Big Band and Swing show booked on Saturday.
I shall sign off now as I want to get settled for The Paradise at 8pm.
Thanks for following and Toodle Pip for Now!
