I’m trying very hard to get all excited about Easter this week but with the weather being the way it is I’m failing somewhat! I have Easter Bonnet shows every day for the next two weeks and then a mix bag with the run up to the start of the 1940s season in Bushey. But this weather honestly – it’s far too cold for the time of year and I just hate it! I can’t remember the last time I saw sunshine and even Tigger is choosing to put himself to bed in his basket rather than be his normal bouncy pussy self. I’m not looking forward to loosing the hour on Sunday as I’m performing in Nuneaton so no lay in for me but fingers crossed things will warm up soon!
Dispite the cold I have been busy and I’ve already sold over 200 dates for this year. My work has changed somewhat in that I seem to be doing more and more private events as the 40s sceen has changed grately. The trend seems to be for qantaty and not quality with many events opting for an open mike aprouch. On the face of it it might seem a clever move but talking to re-eancters and members of the public so many events have lost their direction. The point of the entertainment is to earn the venue money. It’s better to invest in one or two good acts which engage an audience and keep the public on site spending money than to have an endless stream of “wonabes” who just turn the public off – but then what do I know!
In the mean time don’t forget you can see me on the 13th and 14th April at The Forties Family Experience Weekend, The Lincolnsfield Childrens Centre, Bushey Hall Drive, Bushey, Herts, WDZ3 2E5. I shall be performing 3 x 45 minute costume shows daily plus at the Saturday night dance. I have some great shows planed so do come along as there will be much to see and do. Lets just hope the weather gets better. Thanks for following and I hope you can catch me in April.
Toodle Pip!
