NEWS PAGE & BLOG

Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become a regular visitor to my site.

Kind Regards

Christmas Tidings & My New Video The Girl in the Little Green Hat!

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

It’s that crazy time of year again where I’m out “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree” performing a couple of shows a day every day. With nine shows down so far I just have another forty-three to do between now and the end of the year.  I managed to squeeze in another show for Friday due to a client rescheduling because of a Covid lock down. Dates are selling quickly for 2023 and I’ve almost sold out for Coronation week next year.

Thank-you to every-one who came to see me at The Officers Mess Cocktail Bar in Stratford Upon Avon last Friday. It was a fabulous night as I covered Christmas, Opera, Big Band and Swing, Hollywood Movie Musicals to Rock and Roll. It took military precision getting myself there on time as I drove up from Oxfordshire after performing my first show of the day in Boars Hill for an Elf party. Elf parties are quite normal for this time of the year and huge fun to do although I confess I felt a little under-dressed. Perhaps I should have swapped my seemed stockings for a pair of stripy green and red tights. As for the

Officers Mess it was the first time I had had the pleasure of performing there and I hope very much to be returning next year so keep watching this space.

Despite being exceptionally busy I’ve been having a few problems on the domestic front. Our boiler has broken down and we can’t get it fixed until the 15th December. It’s going to be a mayor job and all the radiators need to be sorted out too. For the moment keeping warm has been difficult because my office is in the cold part of the house. Fortunately my mothers side is warm because it

has a separate boiler and heating system, but my brother and I have been having to wrap up with extra clothing. The hardest part is getting out of bed in the morning because being a diabetic I have poor circulation. I’m a bit like a tortoise and it can take a while for be to get the blood circulating which is why I have to exercise every morning before heading off to do my shows.

At this time of the year anything can happen and I take a pride in being reliable and no-matter what my be going on behind the scenes I’m always there, on time performing slick shows. Yesterday one of my show computers went down. Fortunately I always carry a back-up so it was easy for me to switch and nobody was any the wiser. Luckily I was able to get it straight into my computer man who was able to fix the problem and I picked it up tonight. I have a tough schedule ahead of me and it’s important I’m on my game and no matter what may happen I always have a back up plan.

Meet the Great Mess Staff!

I’m pleased to have my van back and it’s great to be driving Belinda the Berlingo again. I’ve got some great events coming up and don’t forget I will be at The Black Country Living Museum performing for their Christmas Nights “Glad Tidings” 16th, 17th & 18th December. I’m booked to perform four shows nightly and some of the days have already sold out. If you would like tickets click the link below while tickets are still available.

Merry Christmas!

This year I will be performing in the Workers Institute and my show will be taking on a 1940s – 50s  Christmas look as I perform magical festive songs of yesteryear. So I look forward to seeing you all.

I’m going to leave my blog here tonight as I must get to bed. Due to my heavy work load I may not be able to do a blog next week but as soon as I get a moment I will so keep watching this space. I’m also struggling a bit with Christmas cards this year so if you don’t get one please don’t be offended I just have so much on my plate at the moment I’ve little time to do anything else but sing.

I shall leave you all with my latest flicker book video “The Girl in the Little Green Hat” which documents my summer concert at Bletchley Park. I love this song which I first heard performed in the film “Mrs Henderson presents” Enjoy Watching Toodle Pip and Bye for Now!
