Hello one and all I’m sorry it’s been a few days since I last blogged but I’ve had a very busy weekend. As you know I was doing an Edwardian photo shoot at Sywell Aerodrome on Saturday which went really well. We also did some 1920s shots too and I can’t wait to see the photos although I’ve got to be pacent and wait 10 to 14 days. I was working with 2 very talented photographers Dave and Barbara Jackson and to have the oppertunity to be photographed with a plane so early in date was a once in a life time chance. For those of you who have been reading my blogs you will know I had a new costume 1912-14 in date so I’m looking forward to sharing the photos with you when they come through!
Today I had another mini photo shoot this morning with spring flowers all very 1940s glamour before heading off to Bushey and The Forties Family Experience Weekend. This was my last chance to visit an event before I start my season. Sometimes it’s nice to be a visitor and do all the things I never get the chance to do when I’m working. I particuly enjoyed the ARP gentleman who did the talk on bombs and air raids. Very interesting and I also got the chance to look at the 1940s house which for some reason I had always missed before. It was great to meet up and have a chat with all the stall holders and catch up with all you re-anacters and the news from the 40s sceen and your veiws on past events!
The rain held off which was good although a little cold which is why I think it is so important to have somewhere where people can come inside and watch entertainment rather than having it all out-side and only Lindy-Hop. Sadly not everyone can take part and if it’s cold you often find people drift away in favour of a sit down and a warming cup of tea! I have to say I really enjoyed my cup of tea and off ration home made cake – Yummy!
