NEWS PAGE & BLOG

Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become a regular visitor to my site.

Kind Regards

Back from School!

Today I have been performing my ATS show at my old school – Leighton Middle School and I have to say I think this was the best one yet!
I’ve been going into schools for six years now and I’ve developed a special show for children which is more educasual based bringing in  facts about WW2, and how events infulenced the musical styles of the time. I always worry a bit before hand as I like to make sure my lesson plan is fun and will get the children motavated. No worries today as we had a ball although I felt a bit sorry for the French mistress who was struggling with “Mairzy Doats and Dozy Doats”. I think the favourite was “Yes we have no Bananas” because I give the children actions to do and it ties in with rationing!
Such Fun!
A big thank-you to Miss Short for inviting me. Miss short taught me music when I was at Leighton Middle and if it wasn’t for her I probably wouldn’t be a professional singer today. When I first came to the school I wanted so much to be in the school plays and do drama but because of my dislexia I couldn’t read the scripts so I was unable to take part. Thanks to Miss Short I joined the choir and before I knew it I was singing solos and dancing instead! Thank-you Miss Short I owe you alot – as music has played such an important part in my life ever since!
Don’t forget you can catch me tomorrow at Woburn Abbey singing all day for the Vintage Christmas Fair. I can’t quite deside which outfit to wear as I have a new 40s suit with knock-em dead shoulders and the hat pictured does look rather good with it. On second thoughts it might look a bit too manly as I do like to wear a tie with it so maybe something softer would look better. Oh I don’t know something will sugest it’s self no dout. I hope you can make it along – see you tomorrow and Toodle Pip!www.Vintagechristmasboutique.com
