NEWS PAGE & BLOG

Hello one and all and welcome to my news page. Here you can see me as my two alter egos the ever efficient secretary Prudie Jones, Evette the Spivette and plain old little me as you catch up with all that is current in my world. Regrettably unlike Prudie my spelling is quite frightful at the best of times due to my dyslexia so I shall apologise now for anything which might be shamefully mis-spelt. In the mean time I hope you find this page fun, entertaining and informative and become a regular visitor to my site.

Kind Regards

A Voice in a Million

A Busy Forth Coming Weekend!

I’m dashing some what to get my blog done tonight as I have a very busy weekend planed one way and another. Tonight I have been with musical arranger Bill Pollard and we have been talking about musical arrangements and how to balance the voice with different instraments. I’ve just leant a new word “Chalumeau” originaly a generic term given to a rustic reed instrament used in the 18th century but now meaning the lower register of the clarinet. He has just arranged for me my arrangement of “If I loved You” and those lower sounds will balance beautifuly with my voice so I can’t wait to try it out with the Concert Band!
Today I have been performing Easter Bonnet shows in Watford despite the snow and tomorrow I’m out all day with a show in Denham and then I’m off to see the Ballet in the evening. I’ve been invited by my friend Linda Page who is ex Royal Ballet. We are going to see the Richard Alston Dance Company at the Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury and Linda has been able to get front dress circal seats so I’m looking forward to it very much. They are performing “The Devil in the Detail” which is inspired by Rag Time music – Scott Joplin and all that so it should be a really joyous and uplifting show – so can’t wait!
Saturday I’m performing in Ealing and then on Sunday I’m going to the Vintage Market and Swing Tea Dance at Wingrave Community Centre. Wingrave. Bucks HP22 4PE. I’m looking forward to getting my dancing shoes on again as these last few weeks I’ve been singing non stop and well I’m just longing to dance as I haven’t done so in such a long time. The event is being run by Sandy of Swingrave for Brest of British and do check out her web-site to find out more at www.swingrave.com There is much going on and I’ve already booked to have my hair done as Angela my hair dresser is having a stall. I’m looking forward to hearing Sophie Garner as she is singing in the evening. The last time I met Sophie was at Hammersmith Vintage fashion fair and I’ve never heard her sing so I’m looking forward to seeing her very much.
I myself have been booked by Swingrave on the  7th July to run a Singing Workshop. I’ve never done anything like that before but I’ve got an idea how I can make it work – getting every-one involed what ever their abilaty! So Watch This Space!
Times creeping on and I still have loads of paper work to do including the contract for France. Thank-you Brian for your e-mail about driving in France. You are right about Connet vans having a blind side. I got the paper work through today about the ferry and they did want me to sail back from Caen. I don’t think I can cope with that drive with it being my first time driving on the right and all. So I’m hopping to change to Cherbourg the same as I arrive. Fingers crossed!
Thanks for following and with it being a busy weekend I probably wont blog again until Monday. Keep Watching Toodle Pip and Bye for Now!
